I'm teaching a workshop at Metrix Create Space about how to build your own Window Garden. We'll be doing the DIY style of window farms.
It'll be a two part workshop.
First part is this Saturday 6-10-2011 from 2-4pm.
The second part will be 6-28-2011 from 7-9pm.

Ordered 20 bulkheads
The sales guy from Industrial Specialties called me back, and I've got 20 of those bulkheads on their way to me (will prolly be a week or two he says).
Twenty due to minimum order, but now I'll have plenty for folks in Seattle who want to build Window Farms.

Early Work With Hydroponic Airlift Plumbing
I've spend the last few days tinkering with my window garden, and I spent some time tonight writing up some of my thoughts... with pictures and stuff!
The most important things I've found relating to the air lift system I'm building seem to be:
1. Distance between the top of the water and the tip of the needle.
2. Distance between the bottom of the reservoir and the bottom of the airlift tube.
With the needle at the bottom and the water-update near the top of the water level you have total, epic, fail.
Along the way I stumbled upon this configuration which seems to work.
I'm currently thinking this is the way to go.

Window Garden First Post !!one
A few weeks ago I decided to build a window farm (or as I call mine a window garden).
Wiki tells me a farm is:
A farm is an area ... including various structures, devoted primarily to the practice of producing and managing (stuff).Wiki tells me a garden is:
A garden is a planned space, ... , set aside for the display, cultivation, and enjoyment of plants and other forms of nature.
I plan to eat from my garden, but I also plan to cultivate carnivorous plants, and other fun stuff.
Gonna document the details here, kinda, probably. Until I get bored.
